From the highest hill at the heart of the Norfolk Broads, our delightful parish slopes down to fenland by the River Yare. Residents (which have included the eminent and the talented) today number only about 600, yet the area is surprisingly busy. Bird watchers descend on Strumpshaw Fen (site of special scientific interest), traction engine enthusiasts flock to the Steam Museum, and horse riders canter through beautiful countryside. The parish church is well patronised and two pubs, a post office and other businesses flourish.

The Book of Strumpshaw: A village at that time of day

Publication day is getting nearer - the deadline for subscriber entries closes on August 18th.  For latecomers, there is still time to order direct from the publishers and beat the rush at the bookshops in October.
